Babies all over the world suffer from one or the other type of eczema as this is the kind of skin condition which develops due to different reasons so any kind of itchy and red spot on the skin can be called a kind of eczema.


Normally infants at the age of two months tend to develop problems of eczema but they easily overcome this problem by the time they reach two years of age. But sometimes the problem becomes chronic if it continues after the baby crosses the age limit of two years but does not get any type of relief from eczema.



Eczema can affect any part of the baby’s body and the appearance of the eczema will depend on the type of eczema that the baby is suffering from. The most common form of dermatitis that babies suffer from its cradle cap in which white flakes of skin can be observed on the forehead, behind the ears and on the scalp. On the other hand babies may also develop red bumps which turn to blisters which open up due to scratching and clear and sticky liquid oozes out of the blister making it look infected.


Reasons for Baby Eczema
The most common reason for baby eczema is hereditary so parents who have the problem of hay fever, asthma or suffer from eczema should monitor their babies as their high chances that the babies will suffer from eczema.


Another reason for eczema in babies is atopic condition which means that the baby has dry skin which has been exposed to certain materials in the clothing which has caused itching and led to the development of eczema.


Other reasons are exposure to extreme temperature or food allergies or in some cases early weaning from breast-feeding to other types of feeding methods may also make the babies suffer from eczema. In case of breast-feeding mothers who have eczema or hay fever or asthma should take extra precaution and if they find any signs of red bumps or flaky skin all the baby’s body they should immediately get a checkup and stop feeding the baby.
