There is no known cause of migraines. It is, however, believed that there is a reaction in the central nervous system that might have caused a change in the environment or in the body.
And still, it is also believed that migraines are inherent, which means that this condition runs in the family. As such, this suggests that people who experience migraine may adapt the sensitivity to triggers which causes inflammation in the blood vessels and in turn, causes pain the head.

A trigger is basically called something that starts a reaction or a process. For people suffering from headaches, here are some of the trigger processes: hormonal changes in women, lack of sleep, alcohol, exertion, glare or contrasting patterns, stress, foods that contain caffeine such as chocolate or coffee and foods which contain MSG such as Chinese food, hunger, perfume, over the counter drug prescription, environmental factors such as the environment, pollution, weather, and change in time zones

There are different signs and symptoms of migraine. Migraine headache is actually a pulsating and throbbing pain felt in the head that is often increased by lowering of the head, straining, coughing and too much exertion on a physical activity. Migraine activity is so intense that it often leaves the sufferer tired, weak and worn-out once headache is finished. Migraine headache occurs only on one side of the head, and it usually lasts for about one to two hours and in some cases, it even lasts up to a day. But it normally passes.

There are several types of over the counter medicines to treat migraine. Among these drugs are three medications that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved.
Among them is the Excedrin Migraine, which is a combination of acetaminophen, caffeine and aspirin.

This is actually the first drug which was approved by the FDA and is recognized to treat migraines and its known symptoms. This medicine is also recognized to treat 70% of its patients and even helps women in their menstrual migraines. Other drugs that have also been approved of to treat migraines are Advil Migraine and Motrin Migraine Pain, which both contain ibuprofen.

There are also other kinds of drugs that serve as migraine remedy. Among them is what is called Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs are known to have treated mild to severe migraines. The benefit of a sufferer taking NSAIDs drugs is that it contains acetaminophen and naproxen, which are known to help in curing migraines.

This drug is also recognized to help cure nausea, and it is not recommended for people who are at a risk of bleeding and for people who are allergic to aspirin. There are also other injected NSAIDs which are also known to help alleviate the pain of migraine and works better than other drugs. There have been reports ands studies that these drugs cure patients of their migraines.

Aside from taking drugs, there are still other ways to help cure migraines. Among them is the cooling pads, which is applied during an attack and it cools the skin up to four hours and can be placed anywhere near the affected area.

Migraine and intense pain go together hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other. And for people suffering from it, the pain usually isp ersonified by triggers in the environments, such as direct sunlight, sounds that rattle off the ears and even smells that irritates the nose.

According to the American Medical Association, there are about 26 million Americans who are suffering from this medical condition. There are actually no migraine symptoms, but the common signs are as follows:there is a throbbing pain in the head which last for four to seventy-two hours and occurs on one side of the head.

People also experience vomiting or nausea. Before it happens in a person, a visual or auditory disorder occurs first, and these symptoms are called as “auras”, which include seeing bright spots, zigzag lines, losing sight temporarily,a tingling or numbling in the face or hands or to the side of the face. When these auras happen, these are the classic ones.

Some people experiencing migraine attack at least two or three times a year and there are those who are being frequented by these attacks – usually two or three times a week, even more. But there have been studies that link migraine headaches with family history and those who suffer from it because they inherit it.It is not only exclusive in adults – children also experience them, and both sides of the head may experience a searing pain. The symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting and nausea.

If you have a headache, the first thing that may come in to your mind is that you have a migraine. Do you know that there are different types?
Knowing which one will help you identify the proper medication for your condition. It is crucial that you get the proper treatment.

There are many kinds aside from ones with aura or without aura; here are just some of the following. Basilar artery involves a disorder in the basilar system in the stem of the brain. Its symptoms are slurred speech, poor muscle coordination, double vision, vertigo and of course, headache. It often happens in young children.

There is also a type that is called carotidynia. It is better known as a facial or a lower-half migraine. It creates a deep and penetrating pain in the neck or in the jaw. One of the symptoms of carotidynia is that there is often a swelling in the carotid artery in the neck. People who suffer from it often experience this several times a week and it lasts a few minutes to even hours. People who are of age or older people often are the victims of this type.

There is also what we call a headache-free kind.Another type of migraine is called ophthalmoplegic. It occurs first in the eye and then there is vomiting involved. As it develops, the eyelid sags and the nerves which are responsible for the movement of the eye begin to paralyze. This may continue for several weeks.

There are people out there who experience an intense and searing pain in the head, and this is popularly known as a migraine. Experts haven’t found a known cause for migraines but it is believed that there are different things that trigger it. Among these things are the environment, weather, stress and others. And these triggers can also be categorized as behavioral, environmental, hormonal, chemical or dietary. Here are some helpful migraine information.

Migraine attacks are often triggered by these instances: alcohol or caffeine, dehydration, allergic reactions, skipping meals, menstrual cycles, changes in sleep pattern, physical or emotional stress, bright light, noises and in some cases,foul-smelling odors, smoking and even foods such as chocolates, bananas, dairy products, peanut butter, avocados, nuts, and other foods which contain MSG.

There are also some instances wherein migraines attack without any triggers at all. Doctors advise patients suffering from migraines without triggers to directly identify between their headaches and their environment. These doctors also advised to keep a “headache journal” and to jot down what may have triggered their migraines.

Studies and reports have also placed changes in weather conditions as a typical trigger to migraines. These studies involve a significant area wherein patients were asked to identify the kind of weather that transpires during migraines and before migraines occur. It is found out that migraines can be triggered by these weather factors: when barometric pressure changes, when temperature is mixed with humidity and when there is a prevailing factor in the change of weather.

Studies have also found out that Chinook winds may also cause migraines as these winds contain ion in the air. There are other crucial migraine information in the internet that will help you know more about this type of health condition.

Migraines usually last for hours and in some sever ones, migraines usually last for days. To start the cure for migraine, it is best to find out the cause first.

And people suffering from it don’t need to endure the pain because there is a cure for migraines.

For people suffering from migraine, it is best to consult doctors about this pain, and to tell him exactly what you feel. This way, he would be able to rule out any underlying disease and so that he could make out a proper diagnosis. Try to find out what you feel when under this attack. Do you feel nauseous? Do you vomit often? Do you feel that you can’t look at bright and searing lights?

It is also best to ask your doctor what kind of medication is right for you. These medications also help in relieving you of the pain. One other thing that you can do is to lie down comfortably on your bed without turning on the lights, without noises blaring in your ears, and lie in a room where there is no scent at all. Apply a cold compress to your temple, to your eye sockets and to your eyes. Try to massage the artery that is lying along your temple with your fingers.

As much as possible, avoid foods that may intensify your migraine. Examples of these foods are those that have MSG, shellfish, nuts, cheese, preserved meats, artificial sweeteners, red wine and certain fruits. There are also foods that you eat for the first time, and then suffer migraine the next – try to avoid this type of food.

Ocular migraines are actually categorized as pain located around the eye and its symptoms may be nausea, vomiting and having double vision.

There is no known cause for migraines, but it is believed that migraines may involve the blood vessels in your head and it usually happens in the early morning or during the day with a gripping and intense pain on one side of the head.

It often lasts for hours and to some extent, even days, and when left untreated, it gets worse. In some instances, sleep can cure migraines. Migraines are also sometimes accompanied by visual disturbances such as zigzag lights, light flashes or sparks.

No known cause is actually directed to this kind of migraine but experts believe that these are caused by alcohol consumption, hunger, premenstrual changes and even the use of oral contraceptives can trigger migraines. There are also foods that may cause migraines. Among them are chocolates, milk, aged cheese, red wine, and foods that have MSG. Other precipitating factors to some people are the exposure to bright lights or to too much exercise.

To treat it, it is advised to avoid the trigger mechanism of this. There are also drugs which help in alleviating the pain of ocular migraines and some people take aspirins to help them. And for some people, analgesic painkillers are also advised and taken and they attest that this works. For someone who really have an intense and searing pain in the head and that this pain occurs often (at least two or three times a week), medications such as amitriptyline or propanolol may be taken.

Often, people who suffer from migraine not only experience pain the head but they also experience some other symptoms as well.

Among them are vomiting, nausea, sensitivity to both lights and sounds and in some cases, the feet and the hands may be cold and clammy. People who experience migraine also find some other odors to be unpleasant.

There are different types of migraine. Migraine with aura is described as a neurological phenomenon that happens 30 minutes before the pain in the head occurs. This type of headache is also described as bright and shimmering light around the visuals of objects, zigzag lines, hallucinations or even wavy lines.

And in some cases, the people who suffer from this often experience a temporary visual loss. There are also nonvisual experiences that happen with this. Among them are dizziness, vertigo, weakness, speech or language imparities, tingling or numbness of the face and the tongue. Migraine without aura, on the other hand, is the usually what is experienced by most migraine sufferers.

They experience pain in one side of the head only and before the headache starts, there is the change of mood and tiredness or weakness may be experienced. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache and being sensitive to light often accompany migraine without aura.

There is also another type – abdominal migraine, which occurs in children who have a family history of migraine. Different symptoms occur with this type, such a vomiting, nausea, gastrointestinal causes and being pale. Children who experience this often grow up with a migraine.
Among its features, a cluster migraine is characterized by an intense degree of pain. Clusters are actually defined as pains that happen in the head quite periodically, and
which is interrupted by spontaneous remissions. There is still no known cause to cluster migraines.

But one thing is certain about cluster migraine: the pain is quite intense and forceful. The attack usually happens in about fifteen minutes to three hours. The start of the attack happens very fast, even without the telltale signs of a migraine. But there are some people who have experienced cluster migraines that say that there are dark “shadows” that suddenly appear, indicating that a cluster migraine is about to attack them. These kinds of migraines are often mistaken for a brain tumor or multiple sclerosis – that is, until the patient gets diagnosed.

The level of pain in cluster headaches is often greater and deeper than in migraines. For women, they have described the pain of cluster headaches as something that is even more painful than giving birth.

The symptoms of cluster migraine is that it makes the eye droop, there is a tearing or lacrimation, runny nose and there are also less common symptoms such as facial blushing, sweating or swelling. There is also a behavioral pattern that is involved in cluster headaches such as restlessness, or the patient can’t be on one spot for a longer period of time. The patient also tends to avoid bright lights or sound that irritates his ear. The patient also suffers from nausea.
A migraine headache, or more popularly tagged as migraines, is a headache that often occurs at only one side of the head.

The sufferer experience a pulsating and throbbing headache that goes from mild to severe and is often accompanied by signs such as dizziness, vomiting, nausea, sensitivity to light, smells and sounds, disruption of sleep and depression. The attacks of migraine keep on recurring and as the sufferer ages, the migraine becomes less severe.

There are different types of migraine, and these are classified according to the symptoms. The more common types of migraine are grouped into migraines with aura and migraines without aura. There are other less known types of migraine such as carotidynia, status migrainosus, abdominal migraine, basilar artery migraine, headache-free migraine (or auro without migraine), and opthalmoplegic migraine or what is better known as ocular migraine.

There are also migraines which are only experienced by women and these are called menstrual migraines, or migraine headaches which occur either before or during a menstruation period. There are some women who develop these migraines during pregnancy or after menopause.

There are approximately 30 million people in the United States alone who experience migraine attacks. These headaches are usually experienced between the ages of 10 and 40 by the time the sufferer reaches 50, the migraine attacks begins to lessen.

There are some people often experience these attacks while there are some who only have few episodes in their lifetime. And women are the ones most likely to suffer from this headache.
