Staph is a commonly used medical term for the bacteria which are medically known as staphylococcus which is not only found on many people but is also present in the environment. The bacteria are harmless in this condition but start its harmful effects as soon as it reaches inside the human body through open wounds, broken skin due scratching or rashes and cuts on the skin.

It also can spread with food which is consumed without washing the hands, especially for children who have the habit of digging their nose in their food as these bacteria are also found in the nostrils.

They are nearly thirty types of different bacteria in staph and these bacteria are responsible for many types of sicknesses but none of them are fatal, unless you get staph MRSA then it can become fatal. Most of the skin diseases are caused by these bacteria.

Even the skin ailment called impetigo which is mostly found in children is caused by staph. In this infection a type of formation takes place on the skin which is full of pus which dries up and forms a yellow crust on the skin. But lately it has been discovered that the diseases caused by these bacteria can also become serious and lead to the death of a person.

Persons who can be affected by Staph Bacteria
People who are vulnerable to the infections caused by staph bacteria are those who have a very weak immune system due to radiation therapy, immunosuppressive medication, cancer treatment and use of steroids.

Other people who can easily be affected by staph bacteria are people suffering from diabetes, lung disease, cancer, AIDS, kidney disease or any other type chronic disease. Newborn babies, people who are recovering from some type of surgery, old people, drug addicts who use needles and even breast-feeding mothers can be affected by the staph bacteria. Staph MRSA is the staph aureus which have become Methicillin- resistant.

Preventive measures
There are preventive measures which can be taken to avoid the infections caused by staph MRSA. Always treat any type of cuts or wounds on the skin immediately as these bacteria can easily enter the body through the open skin. If any type of antibiotics has been prescribed then the entire course should be completed. Proper hygiene should be maintained and hands must always be washed before eating the food.

A human being can suffer from many kinds of problems like fractures, allergies and different types of diseases which have a damaging effect on the body. There are many other types of diseases which are caused by bacteria and have a fatal effect.

But the most dangerous types of diseases are caused by the MRSA virus. The full form of MRSA is Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus which means that the staph aureus has developed immunity towards the antibiotic Methicillin and is the main cause of staph infections. This virus is also known as superbug.

The MRSA virus was first detected in the year 1961 when the antibiotic Methicillin was used for the treatment of the infections caused by staph bacteria and other types of harmful bacteria which caused the bacteria to develop resistance towards antibiotics and became a virus which cannot be killed so treatment has become very difficult for any type of infection that is caused by this virus. In the beginning the MRSA virus was found only in hospitals but now it is found in many places and has become a disease which can be acquired in the community.

Symptoms of MRSA Virus
The symptoms of the MRSA virus are of different types as it differs according to the body area that has been infected by this virus. The areas that can be easily affected by this virus are surgical wounds, burns, eye, blood, catheter sites, and skin. Some of the symptoms of the MRSA virus are very prominent but sometimes it is very difficult to diagnose the symptoms. The healthy people who carry this virus may not show any type of symptoms so prompt diagnosis is very important when any type of symptoms develop which indicates any type of infection.

It is important that extreme care should be taken when the skin develops blisters or boils which turned red and the swollen part of the skin is warm when touched followed by vomiting, fever with chills and nausea. These symptoms should not be taken lightly and all the tests should be done to diagnose the cause to rule out the chances of the infection being caused by MRSA virus. People are still ignorant about the MRSA virus and do not take the symptoms seriously which can lead to fatal affects.

Mersa or MRSA is a variation of staphylococcus aureus bacteria which has developed resistance towards the antibiotics that are commonly used by doctors to cure any kind of infection caused by the common bacteria. Methicillin- resistant bacteria developed over time due to the negligence of patients taking the full course of antibiotics that was prescribed by their doctors.

This type of bacteria are also known as superbug which is considered to be flesh eating as it can cause necrotizing fasciitis. If not treated at an early stage it can infect other parts of the body and become fatal.

In today’s society these bacteria have become more dangerous than the AIDS virus as people are unknowingly contracting it in hospitals, community centers, schools and other places. It has spread into the environment and has become a community malice as healthy people have become carriers of this bacteria.

The best way to save oneself from the onslaught of the MRSA bacteria is to take preventive measures like proper hygiene, washing the hands, not using the things of other people and getting immediate treatment for any kind of infection.

Transmission Mode of MRSA Infection
The transmission of MRSA bacteria is very easy as it can be transmitted through contact of skin which is very normal occurrence in everyday life. These bacteria can be easily transmitted from one person to another in the places where people come in direct skin contact with one another by being engaged in different types of activities like in the gymnasium, children playing in the schools, using the items used by other people like razors, towels, combs and other items. Nowadays hotels have also become the places from where these bacteria can be easily transmitted.

The transmission of MRSA bacteria can also take place by touching those objects which have been used by people who have MRSA infection. The infection is not only confined to human beings but can be found in animals so it can be easily transmitted through the pets in the house who can be the carriers of these bacteria. It has been found that the entire MRSA transmission takes place through direct contact rather than being airborne so it can be prevented by maintaining proper hygiene.

The development of science especially in the medical sector has brought into the limelight many observations and theories which has made many people aware about all the different types of health hazards which not only causes pain and suffering but proves to be fatal in many cases.

All this information is shared so that people can take precautionary measures and live a fit and healthy life. Developments are continuously going on and the latest information that is being given about healthcare is related to a type of bacteria called MRSA.

MRSA which is pronounced as mersa is a kind of bacteria which is mostly found on the skin of every human being. It is a harmless type of bacteria if it does not enter inside the body but as soon as it gets entry in the body it causes many types of infection. The full form of MRSA is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureas or it is simply called Staph aureus.

It cannot be called a disease as these bacteria lives on the skin of every human being like other harmless bacteria which are found thriving on the human body without causing any damage.
Harmful Effects of MRSA

Staph aureus starts its harmful journey when it gets the route through the skin which has broken and opened up due to scratching, wounds or any other way when the skin breaks up. These bacteria are also found in the environment and inhalation of these bacteria can cause pneumonia but these types of cases are very rare as it cannot harm children and healthy people. But the people who have a weak immune system, old people or people who are sick can easily be infected with pneumonia if they inhale these bacteria and catch MRSA.

Staph aureus can be easily controlled by antibiotics which people normally do by using oral antibiotics whenever there is a wound or a deep cut on the skin of a child. But this constant use of antibiotics has led these simple MRSA bacteria to develop immunity towards the effects of antibiotics and it has become hard to kill these bacteria once they enter the body. Due to this people who develop infections have to undergo a lot of pain and suffering as the bacteria kills the tissues of the body which has to be removed through surgery for total cure.
