The prevention of any kind of disease is better than a cure as some of the diseases are very difficult to diagnose and can lead to several other problems which they become incurable and fatal.

One such disease is lyme disease which is caused by the bite of a tick that is commonly known as the deer tick which helps the bacteria to enter the human body.

These ticks are transmitted on a human body when a person comes in contact with a deer or rodents or wild animals on which the ticks survive. So simple precautions can be taken to avoid the ticks and save oneself from lyme disease.

Prevention of Lyme Disease
To prevent the ticks from settling on your body and spreading lyme diseasevyou should always wear clothes which give total covering to the body like wearing long pants which should be tucked in the socks and the sleeves of the shirts should be long and tight at the wrists and the waist. If you often work in the garden then you should always get a regular checkup so that if you are bitten by any tick the lyme disease can be diagnosed and treated.

If you locate any tick on your body then do not use your hands for removing the ticks but use some kind of tools like tweezers.

If you have to remove the ticks with your hands then you should use gloves and facial tissues and after removing the ticks you should wash your hands properly otherwise there are chances that you may be infected by lyme disease.

If you’re living in an area where there are deer ticks you should always check the hairy parts of your body as the ticks mostly get attached to the hairs. The scalp should also be checked daily for removal of the ticks to prevent lyme disease.

Lyme disease mostly spreads in the summer season so avoid going to places with high grasses and marshes especially in those areas which have been identified as deer ticks infested areas. Always check your body thoroughly after working in thick bushes or in the garden so that you can easily remove any type of legions that can cause lyme disease. Keep the surrounding areas clean by removing wood piles and leaf litters as the ticks easily survive in these areas. Use repellents on the body and in the places where ticks can survive as that is the best prevention of lyme disease.
